Şemsi Altaş / 1989

Altaş was born in 1989 in Mersin. He completed his license in Anadolu University, Education Faculty, Art And Crafts Teach Education, Main Art Pictures in 2011. He began high license in Anadolu University, Institue of Education Sciences, Main Art Pictures in 2012. Altaş, completed high license in Anadolu University in 2014. Doctoral education in Hacettepe University began in 2014 and finished 2018.  The artist had 3 solo exhibition . He participated in many group exhibitions in Turkey. In addition, artist are also included in many international workshops. Solo exhibitions:  In 2013; Art Suites Gallery, That Time! Istanbul. In 2011. State Fine Arts Gallery, Complexity, Eskişehir.             About Şemsi Altaş Picture

Art is a freezing process of real experienced plane. It's an approach of framing or taking it into a quadrage of frozen moment framing. Art is a way to show an attitude, a standing point.. It's effort for evolving the form (conversion) or a mimetic reflection. Also, Max Raphael, indicates, ‘‘The purpose of the art is "decomposing world of objects" and setting a world of values." (Berger, 2011, p.23).  

My pictures, are fragmented and articulated again with another body. On the canvas surface, different moments merge into one body. In my paintins, given are the existing moments and rest is expected to be filled by audience. I am not concerned about before and after the moment. I gets stuck in the moment while setting up the world of values that Rapahael speaks of. This world of values exist within the transformation. Audience follows the evolution of this formation. Psychology of the figures are directly related to the postures of the body. Hands in my paintings are pauses of psychology of figures. Audience follows the rhythmic movements through these pauses. Each figure is expected to strengthen their expressions thanks to repetitive rhythmic movements. Symmetrical composition attempts to contian such attitude is seen in recent my paintings.

‘‘Each object creates its own infinite space’’(Genet, 2012, p.18). This approach reminds us the discourse of 'living organisms' which Mondrian speaks of his own paintings. The bodies in my paintings are too, living organisms that created their own spaces.
